Smartwatch or fitness tracker: which one fits you?

Both will count your steps. The difference is what else you want on your wrist.
Choose a fitness tracker if
You want two-week battery life, a small band, and basic step, sleep and heart-rate tracking. You mostly check notifications on your phone anyway.
Choose a smartwatch if
You want GPS for runs and rides without your phone, a larger always-on display, and the option to take calls from your wrist. Battery life is shorter, usually 7 to 10 days on models like our Stride.
Things people forget to check
- Water rating: 5ATM means swimming is fine, IP68 means rain only.
- App support: check the companion app works well on your phone platform.
- Strap size: most watches ship with two strap lengths, but not all.
